A proud native of Ruston, Louisiana, Colleen's journey into law began with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2014. Continuing her academic pursuit, she obtained a Master of Counseling and Guidance with a concentration in Human Services from Louisiana Tech University in 2016.

In 2019, Colleen achieved her Juris Doctorate with cum laude honors from Southern University Law Center. Her academic achievements were complemented by her editorial role at the Journal of Race, Gender, and Poverty, where her published work on adoptees' legal rights showcased her commitment to social justice. Moreover, she actively engaged with the community through the juvenile legal clinic and gained practical experience via an externship with the District Attorney’s Office in the 15th Judicial District.

Launching her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Ouachita Parish District Attorney’s Office, Colleen passionately prosecuted domestic violence cases for over three years. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, she successfully tried and won numerous cases, ensuring violent offenders were held accountable through Gwen’s Law and Bond hearings. Her leadership as Chief Prosecutor over the Domestic Violence division, coupled with her collaboration with local agencies and advocacy groups, underscored her dedication to protecting families.

Colleen transitioned to private practice as a family law attorney originally at Cummins and Fitts, LLC., and she brings her wealth of experience to assist clients with custody matters. Understanding the emotional toll of custody disputes firsthand, she is committed to providing compassionate guidance and facilitating a smooth process for her clients and their families.
